Tranquil Perch.
When the days grew colder and the warmth of a summers day fade, I found myself wanting the serene, quiet embrace of natures quiet moments. Inspired by the presence of the ‘Tufted Bluetit’, this piece was a capture of the tranquility of those days.
The aim for this piece was to test a couple of points, how could I merge two of the largest aspects of my life - art, with the painting and design, with coming up with ideas, using geometric shapes. Being able to integrate these topics into one painting was quite the challenge. Many hours were spent sketching, researching and adapting ideas to get the end result. Another ‘must’ for the painting was ensuring that the bird itself was ‘realistic’ enough to recognize but also ‘playful’ enough to satisfy my eagerness for both detail and expression.
